Welcome to the all-new version of WomensMarketingForum.com!

Hello and welcome!

The vision for the WMF is as a friendly and open community of self-employed women, collaborating together to create win/win relationships, and sharing knowledge, information and hard-won wisdom freely with one another.

So if you're looking for practical tips and friendly support in getting where you want to be in your business, then you're in the right place!

As some of you will already know, the WMF was originally founded in Autumn 2005 as a paid-for, members-only community to provide self-employed women with an easy and convenient way to access practical marketing knowledge and expertise.

Here's what members had to say about the original version of the WMF:

"We women are renowned for our powers of communicating, networking and supporting others. The WMF provides the opportunity for us to take those skills and put them to the best use I can think of - to help one another create greater business success"

Samantha New-Fielding, Newphoria, Surrey, UK, www.newphoria.co.uk

"This is a fabulous service you're offering ... I've always wanted to be able to run my marketing ideas by a marketing specialist! I know I'm good at what I do, but I also know I'm not a marketing expert ... I don't have a marketing mindset so to partner with someone who does, allows me to focus on what I know I do well and put the rest in the hands of an expert ... I'm very impressed with the amount of information you provide and how tailor made it is to my particular business."

Barbara Desmarais, Parenting Coach, Canada, www.theparentingcoach.com

"The thing I like best about the WMF is that it is a supportive site where I can get genuine, professional advice without having to feel a bit silly for not knowing it all already! The most valuable aspect for me is going to be the coaching, as I am about to embark on a big marketing push for my company and I welcome the feedback and advice on my sales material prior to sending ... I would recommend the WMF because of the availability of professional advice and support, and the fact that, because it is all women, it is not likely to be hijacked by postings from men who think they know it all."

Josephine Mack, New Level Recruitment, www.newlevelrecruitment.com

"I love the 24/7 support from accredited professionals. The team are really supportive, which is important when you run your own business. I really value being able to float my press releases, sales letters and so on before professionals who view my business as a customer would. The response is extremely fast, again very important to someone running a small business ... I have already recommended the WMF to friends and colleagues, and I will continue to spread the word; I love sharing good news and helping other people."

Christine Woodall, Pets Behaving Badly, www.petsbehavingbadly.co.uk

"Despite being a one woman band, working from a home based office, I can still feel part of something much bigger that I can turn to for support and as a sounding board. The fast, informative and helpful response I get to any query I may have makes me feel like they really are on my side, cheering me on as I go through starting up and developing my new business. I'm a Coach, not a copywriter, or marketing bod nor a PR whizz but I have on tap advice on all of these things all at the click of my mouse. I like the thought of being linked up somehow to other women who, like me are out there doing there best to achieve business success and achieve fulfilment the way they see it. The most valuable feature of membership to me personally is the fact that I feel supported and not alone. Thank you."

Two and a half years later, the aim is still the same - to provide a community where women small business owners can have easy access to knowledge and tools to help them get more clients, more easily - but now we're delighted to bring you a much-improved website, and now MEMBERSHIP IS ABSOLUTELY FREE!

We built this new site version as a result of feedback from members of the original site, and we've worked very hard to ensure this site is practical, easy-to-use...and basically everything that you could want it to be. Now that we've put the site together, we naturally want to make double-sure it is exactly what our members want, so this is where you come in!

Those of you who were members and friends of the previous version of the WomensMarketingForum.com site will know that this new incarnation has been a little while in coming. However, we feel pretty confident that you'll think it's been worth the wait!

If you're new to what we lovingly refer to as the WMF, we very much hope you'll feel at home here and want to join the many self-employed women who have benefited from membership.

The site is currently in pre-launch phase. This means that everything on the site is working and has been tested, but now it's time to see what you think of it.

So if you are a self-employed woman, working in any field of business but especially solo entrepreneurs and freelancers, including those working from home...we need your help!

You are cordially invited to take a look around the site, sign up as a member if it looks like something of interest, and let us know what you think!

Your comments, queries and suggestions will be gratefully received by email on hello@WomensMarketingForum.com

I know how hard you (and Jason!) have worked on this new, improved site, but it really was worth the wait. The Wiki is a fantastic resource and I can't wait to share ideas and connect with your other ladies on the blog. Congratulations Louisa!
