About 2 years ago, driven my a combination of boredom and the challenges of a child at school, I had a complete change of career direction. Out of life in big corporations and into running my own business from home.
I now work in personal development as an executive coach, trainer and facilitator with a particular focus on individuals who are in the midst of a crunch time - struggling to make the grade having been promoted, personal issues affecting their work performance, just got a team to manage and not sure how to develop their own style of leadership.
I really like working with people who are challenged and challenging - they often the brightest but most frustrated.
Of course, having left the comfort of big company life, I found myself in a cold new world of self-employment not even knowing what I didn't know. Where to start to find clients, how to market myself (and this from someone with a background in brand marketing), how to find customers basically. I am further along the journey now but still have lots to learn.
