After working in the Print industry for the last 20 years I was becoming increasingly more disappointed with the way the industry was going - the use of sales reps instead of direct contact with the designer, leading to misinterpretation on relaying the needs of the client - leading to incorrect first proofs being sent, leading to unhappy customers.
I decided to set up my own business, Vanila Design and Print, in May 2007 - things were slow to start but once word got around what I was now doing the work started flooding in and I haven't looked back since.
I pride myself on offering a personal and professional approach to all my customers printing requirements, be it a simple business card or anything right through to full exhibition stands - and anything in between!
I do all the design work myself and then outsource the printing to various companies that I have either worked for in the past or have dealt with over the years - people I know I can trust to do a good job. I also receive trade prices from most of them as I supply the artwork all ready for printing.
I like to get to know my customers on a personal level as well as a business level and I have made some very good friends over the years - these are the contacts that I value the most on all levels.
I also produce personalised calendars - which can be veiwed on my website - these make great xmas presents for parents, aunts and uncles, god parents and grandparents. These can also be of your pets or favorite holiday resort - any thing really as long as you own the pictures and the subject is acceptable.
